Moving into this century

Going through my monthly budget a couple of weeks ago and noticed that my cable/internet (a certain ‘illuminated home’ company) bill was more than ALL my utilities combined. So I got to talking to one of the younger guys here at work and he said something about why not just go streaming TV? Total deer in the headlights as I probably mumbled something like ‘whazzat?’

Being an engineer, I of course had to research this stuff down to the minute detail. So I took the plunge! I’m cutting the cable and going fully online TV! Who knew!?! Now costs me less than HALF of what my previous bill was! Plus, I can watch what I want, any time I want. I don’t have to be in front of the TV at 9:00PM sharp to watch the latest episode of whatever. I actually scrolled through, picked out, and watched 3 shows on the Smithsonian channel last night. FOR FREE!!

Now I know some of you are snickering right now and saying something like ‘where has this guy been for the last 10 years?’. Who knew? I sure didn’t. I might even look into trading my iPhone 3 and see if there’s anything new.

New Beginnings!!

Ah, new beginnings!

Work is changing over to Gmail so I thought I would go ahead and create a work email account. Later I found out I didn't need to do that. So I deleted the new account. Little did I know that I had coupled my personal account to the work account a little too closely. So when I deleted the work Gmail account, it also deleted ALL OF MY BLOGS!!! Gone. Unrecoverable. Poof. S-O-L...

So instead of lamenting the loss, I'll look at it as a new beginning, again. I do have all the pictures from the previous blog, just not the text. So as time permits, I'll try to recreate at least some of the posts.
